WIRED MONEY event, agenda and further speakers announced
WIRED is delighted to announce the agenda, subject to updates, and 7 further speakers for WIRED MONEY Together with BBVA, the forthcoming one-day summit taking place on Wednesday, July 8.
Newly announced speakers are:
– Number26 cofounder Valentin Stalf, who has built a smartphone-based bank account for European consumers.
– Bitcoin authority Andreas M Antonopoulos, who developed the first masters degree in digital currencies and also hosts the Let’s Talk Bitcoin podcast.
– Brian Forde, who leads the exploration of digital currencies at MIT Media Labs and has also advised the White House on mobile and data innovation.
– Serial entrepreneur Francisco González, who runs multinational Spanish banking group, BBVA.
– Jonathan Vaux, who is responsible for ensuring Visa stays at the fore of payments, as digital disruption rapidly changes the retail landscape.
– Serial entrepreneur, investor and P2P authority Julie Hanna, who is executive chair of the board at crowd-lending site Kiva.
– Investor and advisor Mike Lynch, who founded software company Autonomy in 1996. It was acquired for $11bn.

Raphael Ouzan, founder of BillGuard, will explain the opportunity to bring down financial incumbents and reinvent every layer of banking with UX and data innovation; Hiroki Takeuchi, CEO and founder of GoCardless, which is simplifying Direct Debit payments for tens of thousands of SMEs; Number26 cofounder Valentin Stalf, who has built a smartphone-based bank account for European consumers; Taavet Hinrikus, who was Skype’s first employee before cofounding money transfer startup TransferWise, which is now valued at $1bn.

WIRED MONEY Together with BBVA, will once again bring together insight from sector newcomers and entrepreneurs, as well as the established financial powerhouses. It will offer a fresh focus on this fast-changing industry and introduce, explain and predict the changes affecting the world of banking, finance and money.
