Unity Trust Bank announces new appointments
Unity Trust Bank has announced the appointment of six new relationship managers across the Midlands and Southern regions, to support, develop and expand the bank’s customer portfolio.
New recruits Richard Leighton and Steven Lovell will be based in Unity’s South team, working alongside regional director Matt Conroy, while Amy McDermott, Gareth Eynon, David Robinson and Sukhie Gakhal will be based in the Midlands, working with regional director Andrew Bird.
Unity’s UK-wide network of experienced relationship managers is fundamental to the bank’s personal, customer-led service. Alongside extensive experience in commercial banking, the newly appointed managers bring with them a wealth of knowledge across a broad range of sectors, including corporate, not-for-profit, education and trade unions.
As previously announced, Unity Trust Bank has recently appointed Alexandra Rice, who joined as chief commercial officer. Alexandra is responsible for developing Unity’s commercial strategy, alongside managing Unity’s front office, customer support and marketing teams. Bringing over 20 years’ banking experience, she’ll be using her depth of knowledge in the field to support the bank’s growth and continue Unity’s strong tradition of relationship led banking.
Unity also appointed Joshua Meek as its new head of impact and sustainability to drive forward its impact framework and support its mission to create a better society. Joshua brings extensive experience in international development and social investment and will push forward Unity’s aim to be a thought leader for quality impact management in commercial banking.

Meanwhile, results have been released from the latest Financial Services Culture Board (FSCB) Employee Survey, the financial services’ largest independent employee survey that provides firms with a measurable and trackable perception of its culture.
Over 65% of staff at Unity Trust Bank ‘strongly agree’ that they see fellow colleagues go the extra mile to meet the needs of customers, while 60% also ‘strongly agree’ that staff are encouraged to provide customers with information to help them make the right decisions.
