Teledentistry SmileDirectClub supports high streets and economy with store expansion
SmileDirectClub, the oral care company with the first medtech platform for teeth straightening, today announces it will be supporting British high streets and helping to drive the economy by rolling out a series of its first storefronts nationwide, starting this September. This coincides with the company’s first birthday in the UK and Ireland, showing its commitment to the local market by opening SmileShops in landmark locations including London, Leeds and Glasgow, alongside Ireland, Dublin.
With the government trying to help reinvent British high streets and get customers back into stores, SmileDirectClub offers a unique customer experience in their SmileShops to help with the efforts. SmileShop appointments are free and include a 3D image of customers teeth with its innovative technology – and, if eligible, customers receive premium teeth whitening.
SmileDirectClub’s teledentistry platform connects customers directly to an affiliated UK registered dentist or orthodontist. The Company entered the UK and Irish market with SmileShops located in WeWork facilities as part of its growth strategy. Since launch, the company has achieved more than 33,400 smiles across the UK and Ireland and following its success is rolling out storefronts.
David Cran, vice president of SmileDirectClub, UK and Ireland, comments: “A year on from the UK and Ireland launch, SmileDirectClub is thrilled to be supporting British high streets and helping to drive the economy by rolling out its first SmileShop storefronts. With a mission to help more Brits realise the life-changing potential of their smiles, SmileDirectClub will continue to increase access to affordable and convenient clear aligner therapy through our SmileShops and also our impression kits.”
