Support My Business: A directory linking SMEs with the community launched
Rangewell, business finance specialists have launched: ‘Support my Business’ today. ‘Support My Business’ is a pro-bono project which aims to help SMEs weather some of the economic upheavals of the coronavirus.
Support My Business is a one-stop directory for SMEs to share any gift vouchers or offers they are running during this period of uncertainly. Support My Business will be the home for small businesses to list their promotions so the public can find a local offer now to enjoy at a later date.
The hospitality sector, even before the government called for the public to avoid pubs, clubs and theatres, saw a 50 per cent drop in sales in city-centre bars and cafes. Seaside high streets are down five per cent and regional cities down seven per cent.
Many of SMEs that the Rangewell team have spoken with have said they only have between two-to-eight weeks worth of cash and are actively looking at ways they can generate money to see them through the shutdown.
Nic Conner Rangewell’s Research Consultant said:
“One easy and remote way the public can support their local businesses is to purchase a gift voucher online to use at a later date.”
“We have spoken to SMEs who are on the cusp of a cash flow disaster. They have already seen significant reductions in business which with the shutdown is only going to get worse. Rangewell are donating time and resources in pro-bono products to support the mainly small firms who will be suffering as a result of the shutdown”.
“Today we are calling small business to complete the Support My Business directory sign-up. We will then take this information to create a one-stop interactive free directory to links local firm to their local community”
