Moore Kingston Smith unites with WMT
Moore Kingston Smith LLP, a leading multi-disciplinary advisory, tax and audit firm, announces specialist hospitality firm, WMT, has joined its St Albans team.
The merger bolsters Moore Kingston Smith’s growing leisure, hospitality and travel group which provides a range of accounting and advisory services for businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to large private and public companies.
WMT’s six partners and 78 people will join together with Moore Kingston Smith’s St Albans team, with clients benefitting from the firm’s comprehensive range of services and solutions, and teams enjoying the enhanced career development and progression opportunities that a growing organisation of its size, with strong business support functions, offers.
WMT is a leader in the hospitality sector, working with around 350 restaurants, pub groups, bars and hotels across the UK, particularly in and around London. They are widely recognised for their advice and implementation of ethical tronc schemes, ensuring clients maximise the available reliefs, as well as motivating and incentivising their people in a fair way.
WMT also has a strong presence in and around St Albans, providing businesses, charities and individuals with audit, accountancy, tax and advisory services, mirroring Moore Kingston Smith’s offerings for the local market.
Matt Meadows, managing partner of Moore Kingston Smith comments: “Joining forces with WMT’s highly skilled team combines our collective strengths, solutions and expertise, supercharging our shared commitment to supporting the ambitions of our clients and people. Uniting is a real win for our clients in the hospitality space as well as the St Albans market, and a natural next step in our growth plan.”
Andrew Williamson, managing partner of WMT said: “Becoming part of Moore Kingston Smith is an exciting move for us. While our clients will benefit from access to the firm’s diverse services, this also provides additional opportunities for our teams’ professional endeavours. It brings the national and international expertise of the Moore Global network to our clients and people alike.”
The merger follows Moore Kingston Smith’s recent investment from European private equity firm, Waterland, to fund its M&A programme in the UK as part of its growth strategy. July 2023 saw the firm boost its international reach with the acquisition of leading accountancy firm, Moore Ireland.
