Looking beyond Covid: Businesses offered a legal lifeline to plan for the future
A leading Suffolk lawyer is set to host a free Q&A to help businesses in the East explore obstacles and opportunities presented by this year’s pandemic.
Graham Mead, a partner in the commercial litigation team at Prettys Solicitors in Ipswich and listed in the Legal 500, will speak at a webinar arranged to highlight difficulties ahead and give participating firms practical advice so that problems can be anticipated and where possible avoided.
The online event is one of a series that have been arranged by the firm to cater for local companies affected by coronavirus – with up to 100 business owners signing up to each one.
Mr Mead said: “After nine months of this upheaval, common themes have emerged that seem to affect a multitude of different businesses.
“These include directors duties, restructuring and recovery and a range of contractual issues. We’ve also had a fair share of problems surrounding a breakdown in communications between landlords and tenants.
“Our aim has been to reach to businesses and individuals with enough information to help them tackle difficult situations with a bit more confidence – giving them the knowledge they need to make the best decisions.”
Recent webinar topics have included advice on furloughing staff, managing risk assessments, helping employees return to the workplace and tackling a new working culture.
Webinars are advertised across the Prettys social media channels.
The next event will be held on Tuesday, December 8th at 9am.
