Diversify and conquer with funding from Santander
Manchester based Streamline Marine Composite Developments has secured a £45,000 funding package from Santander UK to further diversify its product range, following a successful move into new sectors.
The business was created in 2012 as a bespoke manufacturer of fibreglass water taxis. Just two years later the company increased its product range, offering unique solutions for the automotive, retail and construction sectors – a move which boosted overall sales by 80%.
The latest tranche of funding from Santander UK will build on this expansion and introduce a new series of patented boat designs to the company’s suite – using the same trusted manufacturing process it used for its marine range. The move will see the business branch into the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke GRP/fibreglass products, creating 5 new positions on the shop floor and two new office staff which is expected to increase sales by 45%.
Thanks to its approach of providing tailored solutions for an array of customers, Streamline recently won a contract with automotive giant Ford to fit a suite of new products for its Box Van along with a new contract awarded just last week to design, manufacture and install bespoke translucent panelling system for the Science and Industry Museum Manchester.
Director of Streamline Marine Composite Developments Ltd, James Barlow, commented: “Streamline have worked extremely hard since the company’s inception to establish a client base who return to streamline for turn key solutions offering a one stop shop to design, manufacture and installations services enabling streamline to continuously grow and penetrate new sectors within our industry, the support of our bank Santander is key to the success and growth of the company and look forward to a long lasting relationship with them ”
Business relationship director at Santander UK, Luke Rowbotham, added: “James and the team at Streamline build products that are unique in design and tailored to the needs of their customers – earning them a reputation for quality craftsmanship across multiple sectors. We have worked closely with the business to help open doors to new markets and look forward to continuing building on this in the coming months and years.”
