Bermans welcomes new partner
Liverpool and Manchester commercial law firm Bermans is pleased to announce the addition of Sarah Wellicome as a partner to its growing team.
Sarah Wellicome, a banking and finance litigation specialist, will head the firm’s nationally renowned invoice and asset finance litigation team following the retirement of partner Andrew Henderson after 39 years with the firm. Sarah, who will be based in the firm’s Manchester office, qualified in 2007 and previously led a busy litigation team dealing with property litigation on a range of high-value and complex disputes for secured lenders and receivers in the High Court and through mediation and ADR.
Jon Davage, managing director of Bermans, says: “I am delighted to welcome Sarah, who is so well-established within her field. Our litigation work is thriving, so Sarah’s arrival will further drive growth within this nationally renowned team. Across both of our offices in Liverpool and Manchester, we are seeing growth and momentum build as we actively look to add new lawyers to our team over the course of the year.”
The firm has also recently welcomed new employment partner, Sarah Collier, and Charlotte Mills, a partner in its corporate team, who joined from sister law firm, Jackson Lees. These latest appointments take the number of partners at the firm to 20.
Since 2022, Bermans has been part of the MAPD group which stands for ‘Making a Positive Difference’. The MAPD Group was founded by CEO Brian Cullen and COO Joanna Kingston-Davies in 2020 to power the growth of local law firms nationally through acquisition. The group now has nine brands.
