American industrial holding Del Mar Energy has reported its first successful oil delivery to Turkey
As part of a won tender for oil exports from the USA, the international industrial holding Del Mar Energy completed the delivery of the first batch of oil to the Turkish city of Izmir.
Del Mar Energy’s product made its way through the Strait of Gibraltar and the North Atlantic Ocean, sailing from the Gulf of Mexico. The delivery by liners took 29 hours, setting a record for transportation speed.
The holding does not stop there, as a second oil delivery to Izmir, with a total value of $14,000,000, is scheduled for July. This isn’t Del Mar Energy’s first involvement in Turkey’s industrial sector. The company plans to develop a new field in this area by 2027 and is also considering placing its own solar panels there, which would benefit both Turkey’s economy and the holding itself as it actively expands its influence in Europe’s industrial market.
Regular participation in tenders allows Del Mar Energy to regularly gain access to lucrative opportunities, giving the holding a significant advantage over its competitors. Strengthening trade relations between Turkey and the USA is a historic event, in which the company plays a significant role.
Del Mar Energy’s oil undergoes a two-stage purification process and meets all international standards for export. For this, the oil is treated with a water solution of formaldehyde and a water solution of ammonia containing sodium carbonate, at temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius. Part of the spent water solution of reagents, after separation from the purified raw material, is returned to the technical process for optimizing the consumption part. Thus, the oil purification technology by Del Mar Energy is not only high-quality but also profitable.
The implementation of the holding’s technologies into mass production is only a matter of time. Oil exports to Turkey are a responsible task for the company to consolidate its leadership positions in the industrial sector.
The oil for this deal was extracted using a tertiary method, in which the natural resource in the reservoir is heated, becoming less viscous, thereby increasing extraction efficiency. This methodology significantly increases oil recovery from mature fields considered non-prospective.
Another modern technology that Del Mar Energy has introduced into its production is the use of 4D seismic monitoring of oil and gas fields. This technology creates online models of oil and gas fields with complex structures, allowing for the evaluation of changes in reservoir structure and significantly increasing the reliability of basin oil and gas forecasts.
The effectiveness of exploration using such a method significantly reduces the costs of preparing fields for development and increases the efficiency of the resource base. The implementation of the innovative method itself helps to increase recoverable reserves and reduce capital expenditures on operational drilling.
Del Mar Energy is actively developing the field of hard-to-recover reserves. The development of such fields requires new approaches, which the holding is capable of presenting to the world. Today, innovative drilling technologies for high-tech horizontal and multilateral wells are already being used for the development of hard-to-recover reserves. In this method, horizontal wells branch out in different directions, leaving untouched water or gas layers.
Multistage hydraulic fracturing is another innovative development in shale oil production. This method allows operations on multiple sections of a well, increasing oil and gas productivity. As a result of gas injection into the formation, it dissolves in oil, increasing its volume while simultaneously reducing viscosity. The raw material is then extracted, increasing the well’s oil recovery coefficient.
During the oil refining stage, Del Mar Energy also uses innovative technologies.
The holding has developed a unique technology of solid acid alkylation, which is used to obtain a high-octane component of commercial gasoline – alkylate, and eliminates the use of a hazardous catalyst – sulfuric acid. The second factor is the use of catalytic cracking and reforming, which leads to an increase in the environmental friendliness and safety of high-octane gasoline production.
Modernized IT developments enable the creation of an environment for storing information about deposits within a unified database. They also help identify equipment nodes in need of repair and optimize production processes.
The development of 4-D technologies contributes to the correct forecasting of processes occurring at deposits and other infrastructure objects. This not only allows for forecasting but also modeling processes at various stages of production.
Del Mar Energy’s proprietary development, the implementation of digital twins of oil and gas wells, allows asset management of extraction facilities to occur literally on a 24/7 basis. This helps anticipate and eliminate numerous problems.
The principle of consolidating industry demand, setting industry technical specifications, and their development is a fundamental factor for the development of Del Mar Energy.
