Metro Bank, the revolutionary high street bank, has announced two senior appointments at Metro Bank SME Finance. Richard Saulet, previously Metro Bank’s director of mortgages, will become director of Metro Bank SME Finance and John Wilde, former sales and marketing director of Metro Bank SME Finance, has been named managing director of Metro Bank SME Invoice Finance.
Reporting into Jason Oakley, managing director of commercial banking, Richard will have overall responsibility for the growth and management of the newly rebranded Metro Bank SME Finance, ensuring that the services offered are in line with the needs of Metro Bank’s small business and entrepreneurial customers. In the newly created role of managing director of SME Invoice Finance, John will report into Richard and oversee the invoice financing needs of Metro Bank’s business customers. The senior management changes follow the retirement of David Hogg, founder of SME Invoice Finance and SME Asset Finance.
Jason said: “I’m delighted to be able to announce Richard and John’s appointments. Both men bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the team, not to mention real understanding of Metro Bank’s business and our customers. Since founding SME Invoice Finance and SME Asset Finance 14 years ago, David has led the company with distinction and built a truly successful business. We are extremely grateful to David for all his hard work and wish him all the best for the future.”
Business Money editor, Bob Lefroy commented: “I know the whole industry will join me in wishing David Hogg a long and happy retirement.”
