German export businesses could take advantage of UK market
German export businesses facing an uncertain political and economic environment at home could look towards the UK market for fresh opportunities, leading audit, tax and business advisory firm, Blick Rothenberg.
Robert Salter, a director at the firm, said: “The upcoming snap federal election in Germany, combined with general economic uncertainty and the fall in the value of the Euro, means this is the perfect time for German export-orientated businesses to develop a presence in the UK.”
He added: “Although the UK is no longer a member of the EU, the British market remains the world’s 6th biggest economy and continues to offer great opportunities for foreign businesses.”
Robert said: “The prime minister, Keir Starmer, has stated that he wishes for closer trade ties with the EU. The UK is a hub for international trade and will allow German businesses to make valuable connections with businesses and markets from all across the globe.”
He added: “The UK government’s changes to the taxation of non-UK resident individuals who relocate to the UK makes it an attractive base for German senior executives and owner managers of overseas businesses while they establish their initial operations here.”
Robert said: “The UK economy is also open to foreign companies in a wide-range of sectors and has a well-established legal and governance structure, which provides certainty for foreign investors in an uncertain world.”
