The future of trade finance starts with your insights
Trade finance professionals are being urged to share their insights and perspectives in a global survey aimed at uncovering key trends and challenges in the sector. Hosted by Demica, a leading fintech specialising in working capital solutions, the survey will inform the 2025 Benchmark Report for Banks in Trade Finance – a widely recognised resource for the industry.
The survey invites contributions from bank employees worldwide, across all roles, including sales, structuring, risk, operations, technology, and ESG. Participants’ responses will be anonymised to ensure a candid and comprehensive analysis of the industry’s current state and future opportunities.
“This year’s report will be shaped by the voices of trade finance professionals at the forefront of a rapidly evolving landscape,” says Matt Wreford, CEO at Demica. “With global trade facing unprecedented pressures – from geopolitical tensions to rising interest rates – it’s vital we capture insights that reflect these complexities and help define the path forward.”
Demica’s Benchmark Report is an essential guide for understanding the trade finance sector, offering expert commentary, data analysis, and insights on emerging trends. The 2025 edition will address pressing questions, such as the impact of shifts in US government policy, ongoing conflicts around the world, and potential trade frictions.
Highlights from last year’s report included a notable shift in market dynamics, with receivables discounting surpassing payables finance for the first time as the supply chain finance product with the highest growth potential. Additionally, 62% of respondents reported involvement in ESG-focused transactions.
The 2025 report will continue to explore these critical themes, providing an in-depth look at asset growth, ESG priorities, and technological innovation across major trade regions.
