Scottish specialist care service provider secures a specialist funding package with ThinCats
ThinCats, leading alternative lender to mid-sized businesses, has supported specialist care provider, The Jon Fleming Group Limited (JFG), with a seven-figure funding package to support an MBO and additional funding availability for future acquisitions and growth.
The Jon Fleming Group incorporates four established specialist care services companies, providing bespoke complex care services to a wide range of individuals across Scotland, tailored to individual needs and aspirations. Care is administered at the service users’ home and focuses on 3 key areas with a high acuity element – learning disability, complex care and housing support.
Founded by Jon Fleming CEO, the business commenced trading in 2006 and through organic growth and acquisitions is now the largest independent specialist care provider, supporting over 200 people in the community across Scotland.
Thincats was approached to provide loan funding to support the share buy-back by the team at JFG advised by Neil Davidson at Alderburn Finance, independent specialist finance broker, based in Edinburgh.
The ThinCats team was led by Kenny Hughes, regional business development director and Simon Luke, credit partner. Harper Macleod provided legal advice and Consilium Financial Diligence to ThinCats.
Jon Fleming, CEO and founder, JFG: “Over the last 15 years we have supported some of the most complex people in Scotland and with the help of ThinCats we can continue to grow and support more people, with further acquisitions and organic growth. Kenny Hughes and the team at ThinCats have been able to make that journey possible by providing the financial support. This has been a great start to the year for the company and we look forward to a positive year ahead.
Neil Davidson, MD, Alderburn Finance: “It has been a pleasure assisting Jon Fleming and his team grow this business to the next level, facilitating the delivery of such complex specialist care to so many more people of all ages across Scotland, especially during these current challenging times.”
Kenny Hughes, director, regional business development, ThinCats: “Jon started the business with a small grant from the Princes Trust and, impressively, has built this into a group focused on flexible and bespoke specialist care of the highest quality. ThinCats are delighted to support Jon and his team in the next phase of their growth plans.”
