Mark Aston joins CODE Investing to boost broker and intermediary relationships
SME debt finance platform, CODE Investing, today announced it has appointed Mark Aston as director of Intermediaries and Business Development.
Mark, who joins CODE from a business development and marketing role at Moore Blatch Solicitors, will be focused on intermediary origination, predominantly through brokers.
Prior to Moore Blatch Solicitors, Mark spent almost a decade at Santander Corporate & Commercial Banking in a business development and intermediary relationships capacity. Before that he worked for four years at Abbey Commercial Mortgages.
Initially, Mark’s role will be to raise awareness across the broker community of CODE Investing’s institutional funding lines, through which it can make unsecured business loans of between £500,000 and £5m -unprecedented in the UK debt market.
The benefits of institutional loans include lower arrangement fees, longer loan terms and rapid completion times. CODE says institutions can complete on even bigger loans in roughly one month. This compares to 2–3 months on the high street.
Crucially, the institutional lenders on CODE’s panel are also happy to lend without personal guarantees, which can prove a critical stumbling block in a commercial loan application.
Mark Aston, director of Intermediaries and Business Development, CODE Investing, commented:
“I’m really looking forward to re-engaging with all the intermediary and broker connections I’ve made over the years. My passion has always been to provide businesses with best in market finance solutions and in my new role I plan to make CODE the number one technology platform for brokers seeking debt products for their clients. At the same time as bringing business in, I’m also looking forward to helping CODE build out its range of funding lines and establishing it as a key strategic partner to non-bank lenders around the UK.”
Ayan Mitra, CEO, CODE Investing, added:
“Mark’s detailed knowledge of the intermediary sector and strong contacts in it will be invaluable as we seek to build awareness among introducers of the various finance options we offer. At the same time, his forensic knowledge of the compliance agendas of major financial institutions will be crucial. We believe we offer a quality and speed of service that are unrivalled in the market and are looking forward to forming lasting relationships with brokers around the UK.”
