Joint venture announced by Legion Trade Finance and Tower Trade Group
Legion Trade Finance and Tower Trade Group are pleased to announce a ground breaking joint venture to provide innovative trade finance solutions to UK corporates.
Henley-on-Thames based Legion and Lausanne headquartered Tower have joined forces to launch Legion Tower Trade Ltd (LTT).
The joint venture combines Legion’s established UK operations with Tower’s funding and financing platform. LTT provides short-term trade finance facilities to companies of all sizes who need to pay their suppliers for goods worldwide. There is no upper limit on facility size, with all credit worthy cases considered.
The venture is a complementary addition to Legion’s existing trade finance business which will continue to focus on the sub-£2m facilities to UK SMEs.
Robin Smith, chairman of Legion explained: “We are delighted to be partnering with Tower and combining our respective strengths to enhance Legion’s offering. We have developed a strong presence at the smaller end of the UK trade finance market and we will continue to focus on facilities of up to £2m in our core business. The addition of the joint venture to our war chest allows Legion to now offer much larger facilities to companies of all sizes, with no upper limit on our capacity.”
Charles Reynolds, chairman of Tower, said: “Tower is building a substantial international trade finance business with our proprietary platform and significant funding lines. We believe the UK offers exciting growth potential, especially as the recovery gathers momentum, with capital still in short supply. We have been looking for the right partner for some time to enter the UK and are delighted to be working with Legion in launching the joint venture.”
